Property management and service charges
The original developers of the site were Guardian Housing Association who developed the site in the early 1990s. In 2023 the freehold was purchased by Scotby Green Steading Management Company Limited from Anchor Housing Association. Each property on the estate owns 1/20th of this freehold and has 1 vote within the company. The Directors of the company are elected at the AGM from the owners or immediate family of the owners.
The Company has to manage the common interests of the site including building insurance, window cleaning, cleaning of communal areas, maintenance of the grounds and external buildings maintenance and repair. This is paid for by a service charge on each property, which for the year 2024/5 is £148 per calendar month. The company has appointed Letting Centre Carlisle to manage these tasks.
